Dr. Vikas Soota - BDS, DDS. FAGE
Born and raised in New Delhi India, Dr. Soota graduated from dental school in 1997. After being granted the Fellow of Academy of General Education, he moved to Canada, and obtained his DDS in 2002 from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. The South Asian Professionals of Canada awarded him the "Certificate of Excellence" for outstanding and lasting contribution in the field of medical scientology in 2004. He also successfully achieved a certificate in Implant Dentistry. Dr. Vikas enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. He is a huge cricket fan, and an avid supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Dr. Nick Wheeler - DDS
Dr Wheeler graduated from the University of Western Ontario Dental School in 1977 and has been with Tridont Dental since 1984. He has expertise in all aspects of dentistry including crowns, bridges and fillings. Dr. Wheeler enjoys golfing and has lived in Brampton with his wife and two children for over 20 years.
Dr. Richard Carr B.Sc., DDS
Richard was born in Toronto and graduated from the University of Detroit in 1991. After successfully passing the North East Regional Board Exams, Richard decided to move back home to practice. Richard joined the Tridont Dental team in 1993 where he practices all the dental disciplines, and is also an instructor in the Dental Hygiene program at George Brown College. Richard is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as a huge soccer fan!!
Dr. Ona Elvikis B.Sc., DDS
Born in England to Lithuanian parents, Ona came to Canada as a child. She attended Western University and received Honors. B.Sc. in Physiology and Pharmacology, and then graduated from dental school. Dr. Elvikis has been with Tridont Dental from its onset in 1984, enjoying all facets of general dentistry. She makes her home in the Brampton community.
Dr. David Craig- DMD
We are very excited to welcome Dr. David Craig to Tridont Dental as our Dental Surgeon. He has had extensive training in oral sedation, multiple extractions and implant placement, beginning his career in 1997. He shares his expertise with several practices throughout Ontario, and has been treating our patients since December, 2005. Dr. Craig and his wife Krista reside in Toronto, and when he is not practicing dentistry, they enjoy many outdoor activities, travelling and boating. Both David and Krista are active members of the theatre and arts community.
Dr. Craig's professional affiliations include; Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Craig's relaxed manner and terrific expertise is a welcome addition to our practice.
Dr. David Leung - Periodontist
Dr. Leung grew up in Toronto, where he attended Upper Canada College for 11 years. He is an avid swimmer and badminton player in High School and lead his teams to Province Championships. He attended New York University where he received degrees in Finance and Biochemistry. He loved his years in New York as he has a great passion for art galleries, museums and the New York Yankees. After college, he moved to Philadelphia where he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving both his doctorate and periodontics training. After 11 years away from Toronto, David moved back home where he finally has more time for his hobbies. He is also an avid cook -- particularly in asian seafood cuisine and love trying out new sushi restaurants. He also enjoys working out and playing softball in a local church league.
Dr. Salman Rashid, B.D.S, D.D.S
Dr. Rashid graduated from University of Toronto with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D.D.S) in June 2008. He joined Tridont Dental Centre in July 2008. He has traveled extensively as a child with his family and ended up in the beautiful city of Bouake, Ivory Coast, West Africa where he completed his high school. Then moved to Karachi, Pakistan where he graduated with Bachelors of Dental Surgery Degree (B.D.S) in 1998. Dr. Rashid commenced working as an associate and then soon joined a teaching hospital in the department of Oral Surgery. He is proficient in all areas of Dentistry, enjoys his relationships with his patients, and takes great pride and pleasure in helping them reach their dental goals.
Kathleen - Office Manager
Kathleen has been part of the dental profession since 1979. She graduated from Career Canada in 1979 as a dental assistant. Kathleen was an assistant for 6 years, starting her career in Toronto, Ontario. In 1985 Kathleen started at Tridont Dental as a receptionist and then became the Office Manager. She has been at this position since 1990. Please do not hesitate to contact Kathleen should you have any questions or concerns regarding our office.
Manjit - Front Desk Co-Coordinator/ Case Manager
Manjit has been in the dental profession since 1989 and has been a Tridont member since 1996. Manjit received her Business/Finance Degree at Uxbridge Btech College in England. She is fluent in Punjabi, and has an understanding of both Hindi and Urdu. Her vibrant smile and her friendly nature will be your first introduction to our office. You can be assured that with Manjit's approachable manner you will readily receive assistance with any of your dental issues or concerns.
Afeisha - Receptionist
Afeisha has been in the dental profession since 2000. Since 2005 she has decided to move into a front office role as a dental receptionist. Afeisha is very soft spoken and will always greet you with a friendly smile. She enjoys meeting new and existing clients and is always available to answer any questions. She is a proud mother of three daughters.
Annie - Front Desk
Annie is the most recent addition to our team at Tridont Dental Centre. Having graduated from CDI College in 2005, for Medical Assisting and Administration, she worked in a Medical Clinic for two years. She recently made the transition to the dental field with relative ease. Annie takes pride in providing efficient and quality care to all of her patients. Her beautiful smile and friendly demeanour make Annie a welcome addition to our front desk staff.
Irena - Registered Dental Hygienist
Irena became a Dental Hygienist in 1990 after successfully completing the program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. In July of 1990, she joined Tridont Dental Centre in Brampton. Irena has continually furthered her studies at York University in Psychology with special interest in the psychology of drugs. Irena has remained a loyal and dedicated member of our team and her gentle touch will make the most nervous patient feel relaxed.
Michelle - Registered Dental Hygienist
Michelle graduated from Algonquin College in 2002. She has been with Tridont Dental since 2003. Throughout the years, Michelle has continued to remain current by expanding her knowledge and any new procedures through continuing education courses. Michelle's gentle touch and easy going attitude makes her a valuable member of the dental team.
Brigit - Registered Dental Hygienist
Brigit has been involved in dentistry for 24 years. She started working in a dental laboratory, eventually graduating as dental assistant, and finally receiving her associate degree in dental hygiene in 1992 from Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. Upon graduating, Brigit moved to Vancouver where she practiced for 5 years. After missing family and friends she returned to Toronto in 1997 and has been a member of the Tridont dental Team since 2003.
Reena - Registered Dental Hygienist
Reena graduated with a B.A (Honors) in Psychology from Delhi University in 1988. She continued with her education in Canada, completing Dental Assisting at Toronto's George Brown College, followed by Dental Hygiene in 1992 from Algonquin College, in Ottawa. Reena enjoys working with clients from all walks of life as she is a self-professed "people-person". Aside from dental hygiene, Reena is involved in local theatre, singing and hosting T.V. shows. She is an avid reader, is a regular at the gym and enjoys spending time with her 10-year old daughter. You may hear her hum a new song she is learning while she is working on your teeth...a bonus to your appointment!
Arnel - Registered Dental Hygienist
Immigrated from the Philippines in 1995, Arnel learned to combine the culture, values, and work ethic of being a Filipino and a Canadian. He's plays competitive basketball and entertains crowds through hiphop dancing. Acquired a certificate in computer foundations at Sheridan college. He received a diploma in Dental Assisting from Toronto School of Business and has assisted mulitiple dentists for 5 years. Learning a lot from assisting, he decided to upgrade to becoming a dental hygienist due to the reasons of feeling and knowing that he can do significantly more for clients. He graduated from Yorkville College in 2006 with honours and voted as the most recommended hygienist in class. Now, he takes pride in his work by helping patients in educating and maintaining their oral health.
Helena - Dental Assistant
Helena has been a dental assistant for over 30 years, working at Brampton Tridont Centre since 1984. Helena is a very energetic individual and is extremely dedicated to her work and patients. Helena can assist her patients in English, Portuguese and Spanish which helps them to feel more comfortable and at ease when visiting the office.
Nina -Dental Assistant
Nina has been in the dental profession, since 1998. She graduated from The Toronto School of Business, and has been at Tridont since 2000. Nina is fluent in Macedonian, Serbian, and Croatian and also has an understanding of the Bulgarian language. Nina's warm friendly nature will make you feel at ease and make any visit to the office feel like a breeze. Her friendly smile will lighten your mood and she will always manage to make you feel relaxed and welcome. All of these exceptional characteristics make Nina a welcome and valuable member of the Tridont Dental family.
Daina - Dental Assistant
Daina joined the Tridont family in 2006 shortly after graduating from CDI College with a diploma in Level II Intra-Oral Dental Assisting. Her friendly nature makes our clients feel comfortable and relaxed. In her free time, Daina enjoys photography and loves playing baseball and volleyball.
